Slow It Down, Make It Stop

“Life is a big game so you gotta play it with a big heart. Someone's gotta run a little faster coz we gotta lay the struggle. I'd be a fool to surrender when I know I can be a contender and if everybody's a sinner then everybody can be a winner. No matter your rag colour deep down we all brothers and regardless of the time somebody up there still love us. I'm a scuff and struggle y'all breathless and weak. I just strived my whole life to make it to the mountain peak.
C U When You Get There - Coolio feat. 40 Thevz

I can’t count the times that the bus driver has deployed the bus door on poor lil me. It would be insulting if he closed it on me before I got in, but he’s closed it on me so many times before when I was halfway through the door.

Seems like college is becoming all topsy turvy on me now. It’s a whole new world of assessments. Finally what Mr. Chong told me throughout his term at Sri nobel all made sense. The day will come when even if you bring all the documents in the world into the exam hall with you, they will be of no use unless you study. Gone are the days when little notes and points scribbled on the palm of your hand or on your table would have helped you make a pass out of a fail.

If you noticed that chunk of lyrics I quoted, I found it really meaningful. I almost would have quoted the entire song, but I try to avoid including the title of the song in the quoted lyrics. Go take a listen. It’s a pretty old song.

Maths finally ended today. After three days of moaning, groaning and totally beating myself up over maths I went and crashed at Gabriel’s place along with Joyce and Peter. Talking cock is pretty therapeutical, believe it or not. Somehow we can learn so much more about each other.

Then, after pestering Peter to give me a lift to Subang Parade, I walked all the way to the newly opened Subang Empire Shopping Gallery. It seems huge but to be frank, it’s TINY. Main reason for going? Toys R’ Us just opened there.

They moved out of Subang Parade into the new mall and it looks very…American. It was the first Toys R’ Us I lodged a complaint against and the first branch that I requested a refund from. The same branch that sold me a giant balloon for 10 bucks that popped on me just minutes after I blew it up.

Nevermind that. Malaysian products have never made the mark in Malaysia. We export the good stuff and get all the crap. It really shows. I ordered a pack of balloons from Greece and they’re damn good ones. I blew one up last month and although it’s a little squishy (and cuddly!), it’s still a BALLOON and not a scrap of twisted rubber.

I just got back from a rehearsal for a gig our chamber choir has this coming Wednesday. Sorry folks, it’s a private one. 10 songs and 5 days. I have A LOT of work to do. Economics test on Monday to top it all off as well.

Singing bass is a torture. It’s low, repetitive and somewhat boring. The worst part is that it’s NECESSARY. I miss the days when I sang tenor. Now I know what Joel and Boon Dat go through.

Anyway, I really gotta sleep and get ready for a very unplanned Saturday tomorrow. Hmm…while half the folks I know may be out for Iron man 2 i’ll probably relax at home with a basket of chicken nuggets watching Inglorious Basterds. I’ve been waiting for the right time to do that :)

Another lil' advertlet
