"And as the flames climbed high into the night; To light the sacrificial rite; I saw Satan laughing with delight; The day the music died."
American Pie - Don McLean

The unity of Malaysia still stands shattered from the bombings of he churches yesterday. For now there have been no attacks as far as Drive The Sensation can source. However, we bring you some news that can be found as rather confusing.

Reuters reported earlier today regarding the fourth church attack. However, there are listings of 5 churches in Malaysia that have been attacked following the bombing at Metro Tabernacle Kuala Lumpur yesterday morning.

The churches are as below:

  1. METRO TABERNACLE, KUALA LUMPUR - This AoG church suffered the most extensive damage to it's ground floor and was the first to be firebombed in the early hours of January 8th 2010.
  2. ASSUMPTION CHURCH, PETALING JAYA - The second church to be firebombed later at about 4am. Reports say that the home-made explosive failed to detonate, but the attackers followed up by setting fire to the church building.
  3. THE LIFE CHAPEL, PETALING JAYA - The third church to be hit by a firebomb attack. A molotov cocktail was hurled into the building's front and caised a fire in the church building.
  4. GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, CENTRAL SELANGOR - The fourth church hit by a firebomb.
  5. UNKNOWN CHURCH, KAMPUNG MELAYU SUBANG - Apparently was confirmed damaged and hit but has no confirmation on the name of the church. Some news reports claim that this was the fourth church to be struck.
  6. AGAPE REVIVAL CHURCH, AMPANG - The church where a priest was manhandled by four men and was vandalized. The thugs apprently caused property damage and tore down posters as well.
This list is, at current standings, the churches that have been attacked. The news report from Reuters is as below.

Fourth church attacked in Malaysia as Allah row deepens

Sat Jan 9, 2010 3:44am EST
KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - Arsonists in Malaysia struck another church on Saturday, bringing the attacks on churches to four in two days as a row escalates over the use of the word Allah to refer to the Christian God.
The attacks risk dividing the mainly Mulsim nation of 28 million people with significant religious minorities and complicating Prime Minister Najib Razak's plan to win back support from the non-Muslims before the next elections by 2013.
"I have just been informed by the bishop of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church that his church was firebombed in the early hours of the morning," Reverend Herman Shastri, secretary-general to the Council of Churches Malaysia, told Reuters.
"We ask the government to make a strong statement to these wrongdoers so we can worship in peace on Sunday."
The row, over a court ruling that allowed a Catholic newspaper to use Allah in its Malay-language editions, prompted Muslims to protest at mosques on Friday and sparked unprecedented arson attacks on three churches.
The fourth church is in a residential area in central Selangor state. Arsonists flung over a petrol-bomb at the two-storey bungalow, which sustained minor damage, church officials said.
