Following The Music

"I've got a rock n' roll band, I've got a rock n' roll life."
Homecoming Part 4 (Rock n' Roll Girlfriend) - Tré Cool & Green Day

I received a comment a few days back from a guy named Mike saying that he loved my post "Music That Isn't" that I wrote a few days back. He also commented on the fact that he knew someone who was pretty much like me. A guy named Danny. Danny here left his high position and high-pay job for music. Yes. To pursue his love for music. And he just had a voice in his head saying "Do it! Do it! Do it!". He followed it and now he's living a satisfied life. One where he can be himself without being challenged by his own conscience.

Not all of us are created equal. Some of us are technical, whereas some of us are artistic. But remember for everything God takes, he gives back. I thought of this when I reflected on a part of one of my past posts:
Life, in itself, is a journey.  I have absolutely no idea how many times I've said that. I remember the period of my life when I felt that life was a worthless torturous journey. I regret those thoughts today because I feel that I have yet to see the real world, and that I have much more to be thankful for than I'll ever know. It's really proven that you don't know what you've got till it's gone. Just look around you. Your family, your computer, your handphone, your life. It could all disappear just like that. But remember, for everything God takes, he gives it back. If he can't find a lil' something in his shelf, he just borrows it from one of us and replaces it with something of equal or greater worth.

Coming to think about it, Danny here had the passion for music, and that's really something. A job shouldn't be something you have to do. It should be something you want to do. It should be chosen wisely.

No career is a bed of roses. All paths of the workforce have their drawbacks and they still boil down to hard work. The point is, are you passionate enough to drive yourself to carry the load? You should ask yourself that before even choosing your university course. Don't be fooled by the preferred course of many because you may just end up as an average worker, unless you really want to be one.

Anyway, vote for Danny here on the Mutual of Omaha aha moments campaign. Click here to watch his story.
